18 Months

Dear Collin,

What a crazy past few months it has been! You are learning and trying something new everyday. You've gone from walking to running AND climbing! You are in the independent phase and want to do everything yourself. You have slowed down on the eating, but your weight doesn't show it! I say you have slowed down, but rather you have found many things that you don't like anymore. You went from my child who would eat whatever I put in front of you, to having an opinion and surviving on peanut butter & jelly, chicken nuggets, cheese & crackers, fruit, and mashed potatoes. (with a few snacks mixed in between). Your language seems to be coming along. You say many words though most of them are not extremely clear yet. Some of the favorites are Ma-ma, Da-da, Nite-Nite, Bye, Baby, and Yucky. You like to wave at anyone or anything you see fit. Yesterday when we were at the grocery store, you made at least 7 friends by waving your little heart out to everyone who strolled by. You are still a very good sleeper. You sleep about 11ish hours at night and take a 2-3 hour nap in the afternoon. You continue to love going to Mother's Day Out. You have made a bunch of little friends there and your teachers tell me hilarious stories when I pick you up at the end of the day. I think we may have to start "time-out" soon because you do not like to hear the word "NO". You have 7 teeth now and are maybe starting to get a couple more. You have had your hand in your mouth the last couple days, just gnawing on it! You wear 24 month or 2T clothing...mainly so it will fit around that belly! The pants are still a little long, but I still think that you are going to end up being a tall boy just like your Dad. You have discovered a little bit of TV. Though you are still not completely interested in it, you will sit and watch an episode of "Thomas the Train". Your favorite toys right now include anything with buttons, books, cars, blocks, and toy phones. Pictures of you are slow coming these days. You just want to steal the camera away from me so that you can push the buttons. I have to catch you when you are not paying attention! Every new stage that you enter into seems to be my new favorite. Life with you is definitely not boring! Love you buddy!
